What We Do - The Programs of Variety |
|
"Kids on the Go!" Program |
There is no better way for Variety to "improve the quality of life" for children with physical disabilities than helping them meet their medical adaptive equipment needs. Families who care for severely physically disabled children are many times forced to use outdated and second-rate equipment that creates additional burdens in their child and on them selves. For many children, necessary daily tasks that are effortless for us like using the restroom, taking a shower or opening a door can be one child's "Mount Everest" And the equipment that could be the most helpful can be far too expensive for most families to afford.
The "Kids on the Go" Mobility Program provides assistance to children who dream of being to participate in childhood activities, but are unable. Through prosthetic limbs, walkers, wheelchairs, adaptive bikes and other similar equipment, "Kids on the Go" gives children the freedom to be a kid and achieve their dreams. |

Variety's "Kids at Play!" Program |
There is not much incentive for our citizens who have severe physical disabilities to go outside their homes and integrate with the community. Family parks and neighborhood playgrounds do not offer much, if anything, to a child who wishes they could enjoy similar activities like the ones they watch outside their windows.
ASA accessible playgrounds and swings bring the homebound child outdoors, integrating them with the community they live in. Complete with padded fencing, wheelchair swings and park benches, parents can enjoy a day outside their home like most parents can, while their child gets to play like, and with, other kids. |

Variety's "Sunshine Coach" Program |
Due in large to Variety International's successful relationship with the Ford Motor Company, Tent 39 has been able to help many "mission fit" not-for-profits meet the transportation needs of their clients/ customers/ service recipients. The need has become stronger than ever as these charities continue to struggle as they meet the demands of this growing community.
The sunshine Coach Program provides specially equipped passenger vans to local organizations that transport children with physical limitations to and from medical facilities, special events and enrichment programs. Currently, 45 Sunshine Coaches are on Southern Nevada's roads, providing moving billboards of goodwill for their generous sponsors and "miles of smiles" to the passengers within. |
